Especially when dealing with RAID volumes that in our day and age reach dozens of terabytes in capacity. Here is how TaskForce&#8217;s RAID functionality helps you minimize imaging time by <a href=\"https:\/\/atola.com\/products\/taskforce\/simultaneous-imaging.html\">imaging partitions<\/a> of a RAID array.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Once you have selected the drives that make up a RAID array, wait for a <em>Possible configuration<\/em> suggestion to show up. Then click the <em>Apply <\/em>button. TaskForce automatically arranges the drives in the correct order and applies other configurations: RAID type (level), Start LBA, block size, etc.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Once you have applied the configuration, TaskForce identifies and verifies the file system. If the file system has been successfully verified, the <em>Partition preview <\/em>part of the RAID screen allows browsing through the partitions and folders. This may help find potential evidence and prioritize the partitions accordingly.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized atola-shadow\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/atola.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/5useful-partition.png\" alt=\"Finding the suitable RAID configuration\" class=\"wp-image-4716\" width=\"1214\" height=\"809\" \/><\/figure>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>To image a specific partition, click <em>Go to image <\/em>button and in the imaging settings. Then click <em>All sectors <\/em>area and switch to <em>All sectors with data<\/em> in the drop-down menu.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large atola-shadow\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"2736\" height=\"1824\" src=\"https:\/\/atola.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/8select-sectorswithdata.png\" alt=\"switching to selective imaging\" class=\"wp-image-4718\" \/><\/figure>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Next, select the partition for imaging and save the settings. This imaging will take a fraction of the time required for the imaging of the whole RAID array.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large atola-shadow is-style-default\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"2736\" height=\"1824\" src=\"https:\/\/atola.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/10-imaging-raid-partition.png\" alt=\"Imaging selected partitions\" class=\"wp-image-4720\" \/><\/figure>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The <em>Imaging completed <\/em>report will indicate the partitions and sector ranges imaged.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>We introduced the<a href=\"https:\/\/atola.com\/products\/taskforce\/forensic-raid-image.html\"> RAID functionality<\/a> in TaskForce with the <a href=\"https:\/\/atola.com\/blog\/atola-taskforce-2020-7-forensic-raid-rebuild\/\">software version 2020.7<\/a>. Currently, TaskForce supports RAID 0, 1, 5 and NTFS and HFS file systems.
